Linfield awarded AVCA team academic honors

For the sixth straight year, the American Volleyball Coaches Association has recognized the Linfield University Wildcats' volleyball program with team academic honors.  This award comes as a result of the classroom success of Linfield's volleyball players during the 2023-24 academic year.

In total, of 1,425 college and high school volleyball programs received academic honors, including 231 NCAA Division III programs. Joining Linfield on the list are fellow Northwest Conference members Pacific, Pacific Lutheran, Puget Sound, Whitman and Willamette. INTENT sponsored the award for the 2023-24 academic year.

The AVCA Team Award honors all levels of collegiate and high school programs that display excellence in the classroom during the school year by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

Linfield is ushering in a new era with Lacey Bell taking over as the interim head coach of the program for the 2024-25 season. The Wildcats open play Aug. 30 when they take on Mary Hardin-Baylor and Multnomah in Forest Grove as part of the Oregon Trail Classic.
