Linfield sophomore Kira Hawaaboo continues adding to her lengthy list of accomplishments this season after being named West Region Female Field Athlete of the Year in a release announced Wednesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
 
Hawaaboo was named Outstanding Female Field Performer and NWC Rookie of the Year following the Northwest Conference Championships and earned conference titles in the women's long jump and heptathlon.
 
She set Linfield, NWC championship meet and NWC records in the long jump, soaring an NCAA Division III-leading 19-6¾. Hawaaboo was also a part of the Linfield 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams at the conference championships and is nationally ranked in the long jump.
 
The Enumclaw, Wash., native prepares for NCAA Outdoor Championships in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where she will compete in the long jump on Thursday.
