McMINNVILLE, Ore. – Ayana Medina and Jonathon Fagen secured pins for the Linfield Wildcats during a dual match against the potent Southern Oregon Raiders Saturday night inside Ted Wilson Gymnasium.
 
Armed with rosters at least triple the size of Linfield's, Southern Oregon used its size and experience advantage to lock down decisive team victories. The SOU men scored a 48-6 victory over their Linfield counterparts while the Raider women registered a 34-5 outcome against the Wildcat women.
 
On the women's side, Medina accounted for Linfield's lone win of the night in the 145-pound weight classification, pinning SOU's Holland Wieber in 1:51.
 
The Wildcats surrendered three flights to forfeit in the middle weight classes and lost two others by way of pins.
 
Returning to action after missing several weeks due to injury, Fagan collected the only win for the Linfield men at 197 pounds, pinning SOU's Elias Corona in 2:43.
 
Three other bouts were decided by pin in favor of the Raiders. Jacob Barnes lost a tight, low-scoring contest at 285, falling 5-2 to SOU's Ben Hughes.
 
COMING UP
The men's squad is set to compete at the Clackamas Open on Sunday. Both squads will take a break for Finals Week then return to competition Saturday, Dec. 21, at the Desert Duals in Las Vegas, Nev.
