FOREST GROVE, Ore. – Linfield's Emily Sullenger reached the championship match of the Mike Clock Women's Open on Sunday, leading the Wildcats in their first tournament of the season. The junior from Cascade Locks pushed her season record to 5-0 before falling to ninth-ranked Jade Trolland of Simon Fraser in the finals. 
 
"Emily's finals match was very competitive and could have gone either way, against one of the top wrestlers in the NCAA," Linfield coach Frank Johnson said. 
 
Sullenger's runner-up finish wasn't the only one for the Wildcats in the 10-team tournament, however. Junior Ayana Medina placed fourth and freshman Tori Debold notched her first collegiate win to earn a fifth-place finish. 
 
Paige Chafin pushed her record to 4-2 on the season, but failed to place in a loaded bracket at 131 pounds. 
 
"Really gutsy efforts today from Paige, Ayana and Tori," Johnson said. "One of the most encouraging aspects of the day is that our wrestlers are attempting to do the things we work on in practice every day. This is a great sign for where we're headed later in the season."
