Linfield looks to build momentum against Bearcats, Bruins

THE RECORDS
Coming off its first Northwest Conference win of the season, Linfield (4-8, 1-5 NWC) looks to keep the momentum rolling as the Wildcats pause NWC play early in the week against Western Oregon before resuming conference play against Willamette and George Fox. Willamette (3-11, 2-4 NWC) has had an up-and-down season, but is riding high after a thrilling win against Whitman last week. The Bearcats take on Pacific earlier in the week before the showdown with Linfield. George Fox (7-8, 3-3 NWC) has a date with Lewis & Clark on Friday where it will look to end a two-match skid then travel to McMinnville on Saturday to play the Wildcats.

LINFIELD AT A GLANCE
Lacey Bell's group seems to have found their identity after putting together back-to-back solid performances in a five-set battle with Whitman and a 3-0 sweep of Lewis & Clark. Sophomore Nora Myre persists as Linfield's leader in kills with 110, good for eighth highest in the NWC. The East Lake High School product also leads the team in digs with 104. Paige Richards directs the Libero position with 101 digs and 12 service aces. Marina Erosa has settled in nicely with 75 kills on the season while freshman Madison Millard has burst onto the scene with 31 blocks in 2024.

WILLAMETTE AT A GLANCE
The Bearcats have hit some speed bumps to begin the season with a 3-11 record. The 3-2 win over Whitman has provided some momentum to the program that they look to build on. Olivia Cadien heads up the attack with 133 kills while Katey Cramer is a close second with 130. Dream Takemoto anchors the defense with 188 digs, ranking sixth in the NWC.

GEORGE FOX AT A GLANCE
Coming off two straight losses to Puget Sound and Pacific Lutheran, George Fox is hungry to right the ship with weekend matchups against Lewis & Clark and Linfield. Gracie Bearden commands the offense with 164 kills which ranks second in the conference. Piper Harrop leads an effective defense with an NWC-leading 322 digs. Addison Coulter has proven to be dangerous from the backline with 38 aces on the season.

SERIES HISTORY
Linfield's all-time record against Willamette is 26-37 with the Bearcats having won the 13 straight against the Wildcats. The last Linfield win came in 2017 where Linfield swept Willamette 3-0 in McMinnville.

Linfield and George Fox first played in 1995 and since then, the Wildcats trail in the all-time series 23-38. The Bruins have won 15 straight with the last Linfield victory coming in 2016 in McMinnville.
