Wildcats look to get back on track with three-match slate

THE RECORDS
Linfield begins the second half of the Northwest Conference slate with a 1-7 league mark and a 4-11 overall record. The Wildcats welcome Pacific (8-8, 3-5 NWC) to Ted Wilson Gym Tuesday night. The Boxers currently occupy sixth place in the conference standings while the Wildcats reside in eighth place. Puget Sound (9-7, 6-2 NWC) comes to McMinnville on Friday where the Loggers will but their third place conference standing on the line. A meeting with second place Pacific Lutheran (12-5, 7-1 NWC) closes out the week for Linfield.
 
LINFIELD AT A GLANCE
The Wildcats aim to get back on track after struggling throughout the 2024 season. Nora Myre continues to set the standard for Linfield with a team high 119 kills to go along with 116 digs. Paige Richards anchors the defense with 142 digs while Madison Millard remains a force on the front line with 34 blocks. Kanoe Contreras has been the lead facilitator for Linfield this season with an impressive 258 assists in 2024.
 
PACIFIC AT A GLANCE
The Boxers lethal attack is spearheaded by the combination of Mara Murphy and Emma Velcheck. Murphy ranks second in the NWC with 181 kills while Velcheck is close behind with 180. Kaitlyn Westby leads the defense with 28 blocks while Danica Nelson tops the Boxers in digs with 277.
 
PUGET SOUND AT A GLANCE
Maddie Badger guides the Loggers attack with 143 kills at a .315 clip, good for second in the NWC. Badger also leads the conference in blocks at 63, averaging 1.19 per set. Sophomore Samantha Keightley leads the team in digs with 223.
 
PACIFIC LUTHERAN AT A GLANCE
The Lutes feature a three-headed attack offensively with Claire Hindman, Julissa Pernsteiner and Shaela Allen-Greggs. Hindman has recorded 151 kills on the season while Pernsteiner sits at 134 and Allen-Greggs is close behind with 133. Ayre Takamoto has been the distributor of this elite offense with a conference-leading 571 assists. Makenna Jackson leads the defense with 323 digs.
 
SERIES HISTORY
Linfield leads the all-time series against the Boxers 41-20. The Wildcats are 2-1 in the last three matchups with the lone loss coming earlier this season in Forest Grove.
 
The Wildcats trail the Loggers 7-52 in the all-time series and look to end a 15 match losing streak. Four of Linfield's seven wins have come at home.
 
Linfield has 14 all-time wins against Pacific Lutheran compared to 46 losses. The last Linfield win came in 2022 in a five-set thriller.
