Bruins, Boxers on deck for Wildcats

THE RECORDS
Linfield split the last two games with a win in straight sets over Lewis & Clark before getting swept by Willamette. The Wildcats (5-6, 1-3) sit seventh in the Northwest Conference and have a tough challenge traveling to George Fox (7-4, 3-1) on Friday. Before returning home to host last-place team Pacific (5-8, 1-3).
 
LINFIELD AT A GLANCE
The Wildcats saw big weeks from Nora Myre and Ryli Kalahiki. Myre posted her second career double-double with 11 kills and 14 digs against Lewis & Clark and added 16 more digs against Willamette. Kalahiki tied for the team lead with 11 kills against the Pioneers and led the team with six kills against the Bearcats.
 
Linfield averages 10.72 kills per set and ranks third in the NWC in aces per set with 2.36. Claire Johnson ranks among the conference leaders in assists per set with 8.41.
 
GEORGE FOX AT A GLANCE
The Bruins top the conference in hitting percentage at .204 and rank near the top in kills and assists.
 
Emily Blagg leads the George Fox offense with a .359 hitting percentage. Defensively, Kassandra Staton and Piper Harrop rank inside the top 10 in total digs and digs per set.
 
PACIFIC AT A GLANCE
Mara Murphy is statistically one of the top hitters in the NWC, leading the conference in kills per set at 4.14.
 
The Boxers are tied for second in the NWC with a .187 team-hitting percentage. Emily Cheavtharn ranks second in the conference in assists per set with 9.3 and is coming off a 46-assist performance against Whitman. 
 
SERIES HISTORY
Recent history against the Bruins, hasn't favored the Wildcats. George Fox has won the last 10 and holds a 7-23 record over Linfield when the two meet in Newberg. The last Wildcats win in Newberg came in 2016.
 
The 'Cats hold an all-time winning record over the Boxers 39-19. However, the Wildcats are looking for their first win over Pacific since 2016. Linfield is 19-8 over Pacific in Ted Wilson Gymnasium.
