Feinglas wins NWC championships in 100 and 200

SALEM, Ore. – Linfield star sprinter Kenzie Feinglas claimed two individual titles Saturday at the Northwest Conference Track and Field Championships.
 
The meet, hosted by Willamette University, was staged inside Bush's Pasture Park at McCulloch Stadium.
 
In the final team scores, Linfield's men totaled 83 points to place fifth among eight competing programs. The Wildcat women scored 58 points to place seventh in a nine-team race.
 
WOMEN
Feinglas successfully claimed the NWC title in the 100 dash, winning the race in 12.28 seconds. Rachelle Silis was eighth in 12.92.
 
Feinglas came back to be crowned NWC champion in the 200. Her career-best time of 25.00 placed her comfortably ahead of runner-up Jackilyn Lewis of Puget Sound, who finished in 25.38. Silis was seventh in 26.96.
 
Jennifer Torres-Bermudez claimed fifth place in the 1,500 run (4:49.83).
 
Whitworth edged Linfield for the 4x100 relay title, 48.05 to 48.52. Despite shaving more than five seconds off their seed time in the 4x400 relay, Linfield's foursome of Jordan Hayes, Mary Sturley, Silis and Feinglas had to settle for second place behind George Fox, 3:57.31 to 4:02.25.
 
First-year Wildcat Olivia Farrior placed eighth in the 400 hurdles in 1:13.16. In the 5,000, Makayla Erickson logged a new career-best time of 18:42.12, placing eighth.
 
MEN
Chandler Morris and Evan Fisette went 2-3 in the 400 dash. Morris clocked 49.39 and Fisette crossed the finish line in 50.84.
 
Linfield picked up 10 team points in the javelin where Zach Young was third (192-10) and Matt Metcalf was close behind in fifth (188-8).
 
Fisette doubled back to nail down fifth place in the 200 dash in 22.82.
 
Ronan Krutzikowsky dueled Lewis & Clark's Nicholas Stade for the 400 hurdles crown. The Wildcat senior's time of 55.10 was just shy of Stade's winning time of 54.84.
 
Calvin Cahill turned a career-best time of 3:58.36 in the 1,500 run, earning seventh place. Cahill returned to take eighth place in the 800 run in 1:58.55.
 
In the 110 hurdles, Jevon Cloy timed 15.55 to secure fourth place.
 
Competing in a crowded field of 28 runners, Linfield's Alex Oathout took sixth place in a career-best time of 15:11.59.
 
Linfield's 4x100 relay, featuring Cloy, Fisette, Krutzikowsky and Morris, clocked 42.52 to place fifth.
 
The 4x400 relay, comprised of Fisette, Cahill, Krutzikowsky and Morris, placed third overall in 3:22.32.
 
In the field events, Nick Olsen took eighth in the shot put with a mark of 45-10. Freshman Andrew Troeh leapt 6-2 ¾ to lock up fourth place in the high jump.

Selected athletes will compete at the Oregon State High Performance meet, Friday and Saturday in Corvallis.
