PORTLAND, Ore. – Showing off her dazzling speed on the eve of the Northwest Conference Championships, Linfield's
Kenzie Feinglas turned in two eye-opening performances in the women's 100- and 200-meter dashes on Saturday.
The senior from Sammamish, Washington, recorded two-season best efforts, bettering a deep field of sprinters at the Larry Byerly Lewis & Clark Invitational.
Linfield's women placed sixth in the final point standings among 29 entered teams. The Wildcat men were eighth among 30 entries.
WOMEN
Feinglas topped a field of 34 entrants, winning the 100 dash in a season-best time of 12.24.
Rachelle Silis was fifth in 12.87, also a season-best result.
Feinglas ruled the 200 dash in similar fashion, turning in the day's top time of 25.11. Her season-best mark topped a lenghty field of 42 challengers.
Logan Roberts cleared 5-1¾ in the high jump to finish as runner-up. Her twin sister,
Jordan Roberts, clocked 15.93 in the 100 hurdles, shaving more than a half-second off her entry time of 16.62 on the way to placing third. She also placed eighth in the triple jump with a season-best effort of 32-5½.
MEN
Jevon Cloy turned in a season-best time of 15.92 seconds in the 110-meter hurdles, placing fourth in a field of 12 competitors.
Calvin Cahill cut a second off his entry time in the 800 run, capturing third place in 1:56.55.
In the throws,
Jacob Slifka spun the discus 151 feet, 3 inches to place second.
Matt Metcalf posted a third-place result in the javelin, tossing 183-1.
Nick Olsen was seventh in the shot put with a mark of 45-1½.
In the jumps,
Andrew Troeh leapt 6-0½ to share fourth place in the high jump.
