Six Linfield University women's wrestlers have qualified to compete Sunday in the National Collegiate Women's Wrestling Championships NCWWC Region V tournament at Browson Arena in Grand Junction, Colorado.

The Region V tournament includes students-athletes from NCAA Division I, II and III institutions across the western United States.

The Linfield delegation with win-loss records in parentheses:

123: Emily Sullenger (6-4)
130: Brielle Brick (10-9), Ayana Medina (7-3)

Competing teams include Linfield (D3); Chadron State (D2); Colorado Mesa (D2); Minot State (D2); Pacific (D3); Schreiner University (D3); Simon Fraser (D2); Texas Women's University (D2); University of the Ozarks (D3).

The NCWWC encompasses all NCAA women's wrestling programs. The NAIA and NJCAA host their own championships but until the NCAA embraces women's wrestling as an official sport, the NCWWC remains the lone conduit leading to the NCAA championship.

The NCWWC regional championship event marks the Linfield women's wrestling program's first foray into national competition. Linfield launched its women's program in the fall of 2022.
