Linfield senior
Blake Rybar added another career accolade to an already impressive list after being named a second-team All-American by the Associated Press in a release on Friday.
Â
Rybar was named a first-team All-American by the AFCA and a fourth-team All-American by D3football.com. The senior has been named to a D3football.com All-America team in back-to-back seasons.
Â
The Monroe, Wash., native earned Northwest Conference Defensive Player of the Year in 2022 and 2023 seasons and became the first defensive player to win the award in consecutive seasons since Alex Hoff in 2014-2015.
Â
Rybar extends Linfield's streak to 16 straight seasons with an All-American, dating back to 2007 and is the 24th all-time multi-All-American in program history. The senior compiled 46 tackles, 3.5 sacks, 6.5 tackles for loss and an interception in the 2023 season. He spearheaded the Linfield defense which gave up the least amount of points in the NWC at 16 points per game.
