Third-place Wildcats set to take on Pioneers, Loggers

THE RECORDS
Linfield enters the week in third place with a 7-6 overall record and a 3-1 Northwest Conference mark. Lewis & Clark is 2-11 overall and 1-3 in NWC play. Puget Sound sits atop the NWC standings alongside Pacific at 11-2 overall with a 4-0 NWC record.  
 
LINFIELD AT A GLANCE
The Wildcats are riding the program's first three-game win streak since the 2019-20 season. They went 2-0 in last week's return to NWC play with a pair of wins over Willamette and Pacific Lutheran. Freshman Ella Koebelin scored a career-high 19 points on 8 of 15 shooting against the Lutes. She and fellow freshman Eve Burke are tied for second on the team with 6.3 points per game. Burke also leads the 'Cats with a 43.6 three-point percentage. Sophomore Gillyan Landis leads the way with 10.9 points and 8.8 rebounds per game.
 
LEWIS & CLARK AT A GLANCE
The Pioneers escaped last week's trip to eastern Washington with a split, beating Whitworth before falling to Whitman. Karli Mukai was named the NWC Women's Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week after averaging 25.5 points per game, spearheaded by a 38-point performance in Spokane. Mukai leads the Pios with 16.6 points per game while Jamison Richards is scoring 13.9 points per game. Charlotte Carroll is averaging a double-double with 10.7 points and 10.2 rebounds per game.
 
PUGET SOUND AT A GLANCE
The Loggers have won nine of their last 10 games, the one blemish coming in a road loss to then No. 3 Trinity (Texas). The Loggers were ranked No. 21 in last week's D3hoops.com Top 25. Kennedy Brown is shooting 44.7 percent from the field and 40.8 percent from beyond the arc, leading the team with 14.5 points per game. Sophie Nilsson is also averaging double figures with 10.5 points per game. Katie Minnehan has racked up 44 assists and 53 steals on the season and is second on the team with 5.7 rebounds per game. 
 
HISTORY
Linfield and Lewis & Clark have met 77 times. Each team has won 18 games apiece in Portland. The longest win streak for the Wildcats in the all-time series was 12 straight games between the 2000 and 2005 seasons. The Pioneers took the last three meetings, sweeping the 'Cats last year by scores of 74-63 in McMinnville and 64-60 in Portland.
 
Linfield is 11-39 in the all-time series with Puget Sound. Seven of those wins came at home. The Loggers won three straight meetings, the last win for the 'Cats coming in 2019-20. The Loggers won last season's matchups by scores of 74-49 in Tacoma and 81-50 in McMinnville.
