Keri Dixon has been appointed Linfield University Assistant Director of Athletics, Senior Woman Administrator and NCAA Compliance Officer, director of athletics Garry Killgore announced on Thursday.
Â
She succeeds Jane Samuels, who transitioned to a new role at Linfield within Academic Advising.
Â
"Keri is someone who we very much look forward to having join our department," said Killgore. "She knows how to roll her sleeves up and get a job done. She's been very professional in the way in which she handled difficult situations in Student Affairs and won't be a stranger when similar situations come up here. She will be fantastic to our team and I'm very much looking forward to working with her."
Â
As Killgore noted, Dixon is no stranger to Linfield, having worked at the University since 2010. She spent her initial four years at Linfield as a financial aid specialist before taking on an expanded role as executive assistant to the Vice President of Student Affairs and Athletics from 2014 until 2019. More recently, Dixon served as the assistant director of housing operations where she managed student housing accounts and organized student check-ins for three years.
Â
Dixon is eager to begin serving as a liaison between students, coaches, faculty and staff.
Â
"The relationships I've already established across campus should be beneficial to helping strengthen communications across campus," said Dixon. "I love working with students, seeing them come into college young and somewhat unsure of themselves and then watching them grow to become phenomenal people. I want our student-athletes to enjoy the best Linfield experience possible."
Â
Prior to Linfield, Dixon spent 11 years as lead secretary at Yamhill-Carlton High School where she managed budgets, coordinated student registration and collaborated with another staff member to lead an advisory course. While at Yamhill-Carlton, Dixon coached the cheer team for eight years and also was junior varsity volleyball coach for one season.
Â
"Having worked as a coach for a number of years at the high school level, I'm super excited to be returning to athletics," she said.
Â
Dixon completed a bachelor's degree in English from Linfield in May 2022, graduating summa cum laude. Her sister Amy ('94) and brother Stephen ('03) also graduated from Linfield.
Â
She and her husband, Bobby, live in Carlton and have four adult children: Sons Kahleb (Linfield graduate '19) and Tanner are working professionals, daughter, Aylea, is a senior at Linfield and a member of the Wildcats volleyball program, and youngest son, Sam, is a sophomore at Linfield and participates in track and field.
