NEWBERG, Ore. –
Siera Crawford scored 3,187 points to lead Linfield at the Northwest Conference Multi-Event Championships, which wrapped up Tuesday afternoon at George Fox University.
Â
Crawford placed sixth in the heptathlon point standings. On Tuesday, the junior placed fifth in the long jump and was sixth in the shot put and 800-meter run.
Â
Fellow Wildcat
Maya Scott was eighth overall with 2,489 points. Together, Crawford and Scott earned four team points that will count in the standings at next week's Northwest Conference Championships in Tacoma, Wash.
Â
George Fox athletes, led by champion Brecken Vanderhoek, claimed the top three spots in the heptathlon.
Â
On the men's side, Linfield decathlete
Ronan Krutzikowsky was forced to withdraw after the seventh event, the high jump. He had been in fifth place in the point standings at that point but a nagging injury led to him pulling out of the competition. Krutzikowsky joined teammate
