Wildcats fall 4-0 at the hands of the Wolfpack

Box Score POCOTELLO, IDAHO - The Linfield men's tennis team fell 4-0 to the Division-I Nevada on Friday on a neutral site hosted by Idaho State.
"Starting all first and second years, I was really pleased with the way we competed today," said head coach Ben Belletto. "We learned a lot about ourselves and can't wait to get out and compete tomorrow."

DOUBLES
Linfield's top doubles pairing of freshmen Rogue Stone and Nick Gabelman fell 6-2 to Nevada's Loris Zisswiller and Satchel Benn, while sophomore Isaac Milner and freshman Matous Young would also fall 6-2 to Gilad Tamar and Ambroise Marchand. Freshmen Cody Pickar and Abraham Solomon rounded out Linfield's three doubles team, and lost 6-1 to Delmas N'Tcha and Sasha Nicolau. Per Division-I scoring, Nevada was awarded one point due to taking at least two of the doubles matches.

SINGLES
Stone, playing as Linfield number one, initially held tough with Nevada's Matheo Coupu but eventually lost 6-3, 6-1.

"Rogue had a great day today, serving well and coming in at the top spot as a freshman, which isn't easy," said Belletto.

Gabelman and Young both dropped their singles matches 6-0, 6-1 to N'Tcha and Marchand, giving Nevada the win at 4-0. Milner's, Pickar's and Solomon's singles matches were abandoned per Division-I scoring rules.

NEXT
Linfield faces another task tough Saturday at Division-I Idaho State. They'll then host their first home match of the spring season against Bellevue College on Feb. 19 before opening Northwest Conference action Feb. 20 at Lewis & Clark.
