The Wildcats did it all on the gridiron, but six players also shined in the classroom, earning selection to the 2022 College Sports Communicators NCAA Division III Academic All-District Football Team, released Tuesday.
 
Seniors Isaac Hoidal and Brady Wessel, juniors Logan Carr, Chase Michalczik and Jacob Slifka and sophomore Gavin Dalziel are among 40 student-athletes from six Northwest Conference institutions selected to the Academic All-District Team. Puget Sound, Whitworth and Willamette all led the conference with eight honorees while George Fox and Pacific Lutheran had five apiece.
 
Hoidal has 21 catches for 216 yards in eight games played. He scored a touchdown against Puget Sound on Oct. 1. Wessel appeared in seven games, totaling six tackles, including two tackles for loss and a sack.
 
Carr has started in seven of the Wildcats' 10 games, ranking third on the team with 38 tackles, 21 solo. He has 2 ½ tackles for loss and a sack for a loss of nine yards while adding a pass breakup and two forced fumbles. Michalczik picked up four tackles and a sack in his six appearances while Slifka has caught four passes for 43 yards.
 
Dalziel is 9 for 13 on field goal attempts and 60 for 62 on extra-point kicks to lead the 'Cats with 87 points responsible for. Dalziel was perfect in Linfield's 51-24 win over Pomona-Pitzer in the first round of the NCAA Division III playoffs. He made all six of his extra-point kicks while making all three of his field goals, including a 46-yarder and a career-high 50-yarder. He became just the seventh kicker in program history to send a ball through the uprights from 50 yards or farther. 
 
The 2022 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Football Teams recognize student-athletes for their success on the field and in the classroom. Linfield's honorees will advance for consideration on the CSC Academic All-America ballot. Academic All-America Teams will be announced in December.
