PLU is in town for the season-ending series

The Linfield baseball program concludes its 2021 season at Roy Helser Field this weekend against Pacific Lutheran.
 
SENIOR DAY
Linfield is set to honor its graduating senior class members prior to the first game on Sunday. The graduating seniors for the Wildcats are Conor Callanan, Tanner Earhart, Treve Earhart, Kai Herko, Levi Horner-Villa, Callan McRae, Ben Ranieri, Cody Stevenson, Ben Whitt and student assistant coach, Jayden Commendatore.

LINFIELD
The Wildcats come into the weekend having won four of their last six contests after splitting last weekend's series against the George Fox Bruins. Linfield is 10-24 on the season, but 5-5 in its last 10 games.
 
Levi Horner-Villa is the leader in all three triple-crown statistical categories. He is batting .339 with 23 RBIs and six home runs. He hit two home runs and drove in six last weekend against George Fox. Tanner Jacques hit two home runs and collected six RBIs as well against the Bruins.
 
Mike LaVigne is making a strong case for Northwest Conference Freshman of the Year. He is hitting .293 with 14 RBIs and six doubles. Jackson Horner owns a batting average of .330 and a slugging percentage of .426. Wyatt Smith had five RBIs last weekend and Tanner Earhart is second on the team with 16 RBIs.
 
The starting rotation for the Wildcats is expected to be Andrew Del Biaggio, Grant Knox, Gage Mack and Evan Bates. Del Biaggio tossed 6.2 innings and giving up two runs last weekend. Knox gave up one run in four innings. Mack has made the most starts on the team and Bates has two of the 10 wins. Callan McRae has accumulated an ERA of 3.26 in 19.1 innings out of the bullpen.
 
The 'Cats and the Lutes met for a four-game non-conference series earlier this season in McMinnville. PLU took the first two games, Linfield won the final two. The Wildcats are 111-53 all-time against the Lutes.  
 
PACIFIC LUTHERAN
The Lutes hold the third spot in the conference standings heading into the final weekend of the season. They remain in contention to capture the regular-season title with a conference record of 17-10 and an overall record of 21-14.
 
PLU is batting .318 as a team, which stands second in the conference. Jordan Haworth is hitting .442, which leads the NWC and has 39 RBIs to go with 11 home runs. Cole Trotignon has 49 RBIs, 10 home runs and a batting average of .377. Austin Gormley has 37 RBIs and is hitting .347.
 
Justin Tucker has 54 strikeouts in 10 starts. Trotignon is 5-1 with an ERA of 3.57 in nine starts and Tommy Snyder has logged 45.1 innings over nine starts and has an ERA of 4.96.
 
Alex Gregory is 3-2 in 14 relief appearances.
