Five home games, including one versus a team from Canada, dot the 2021 Linfield University football schedule.
Â
The schedule kicks off Sept. 11 with a home game against Simon Fraser University of Burnaby, British Columbia. It marks the first meeting between the two former NAIA foes since 1994.
Â
After opting not to play a 2020 season due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the first Linfield football game in 22 months promises to be an emotional one. On the 20-year anniversary of 9/11, plans are already being put together to include a special remembrance of the many lives lost.
Â
The following weekend, the Wildcats fly to Southern California where they'll take on the University of Redlands in the annual Northwest Conference/Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference crossover game.
Â
Linfield is idle on Sept. 25 but returns to action Oct. 2 with a Northwest Conference contest at the University of Puget Sound.
Â
Whitworth University comes to McMinnville for a Homecoming game on Saturday, Oct. 9. The Wildcats remain on their home field the following Saturday, squaring off against Pacific University as part of Family Weekend.
Â
Next, Linfield heads to Puyallup, Washington, on Saturday, Oct. 23, to face Pacific Lutheran University at Sparks Stadium.
Â
George Fox visits Maxwell Field on Saturday, Oct. 30, for a matchup of Yamhill County's two college football teams.
Â
Turning the page to November, Linfield visits Willamette University on Nov. 6 before wrapping up the regular season with a home date on Nov. 13 against Lewis & Clark College in the annual Pacific Office Automation Hall of Fame Game.
Â
Season ticket renewals are expected to begin in early May.
