'Cats host Linfield Invitational on Saturday

MEET PREVIEW

The Linfield track and field team hosts the Linfield Invitational on Saturday. Field events start at 10 a.m. A multitude of teams, as well as unattached individual athletes, are expected to compete.

LINFIELD MEN
Three of the four fastest times among NWC athletes this season in the 100-meter dash have been produced by Wildcats: Chandler Morris (11.07), Connor McNabb (11.15) and Keaton Wood (11.17). Daniel Olson (22.43) and Morris (22.49) are also among the top-four in the 200 dash.
 
Wood is second in the 110 hurdles with a time of 15.01 and teammate Ronan Krutzikowsky is seventh in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:00.83. Wood is also third in the high jump with a mark of 6-3.25. Jon Sedy is fifth in the triple jump (42-8.75), Jacob Slifka is fifth in the discus (144-11) and Matt Metcalf is second in the javelin (192-5), that mark is also seventh in NCAA Division III this season.
 
LINFIELD WOMEN
Justice McBride-Steiger's season-best time of 1:01.21 in the 400 dash is the seventh-fastest mark in the NWC. Amber Chaffee is 11th in the NWC with a time of 5:01.40 in the 1,500. Maya Scott stands 10th in the conference in the 100 hurdles. Her season-best time is 16.98.
 
In the 400 hurdles, Juliet Arnswald ranks third in the nine-team league with a time of 1:10.14. Makayla Erickson is eighth with a time of 12:24.57 in the 3,000 steeplechase.
 
Jerrica Pachl cleared 5 ft 5.25 inches in the high jump earlier this spring, marking the second-best effort in the NWC. Last week at the Wes Cook Invitational at George Fox, Meg Angier improved her season best to 12-2 in the pole vault, which leads the NWC and is fourth in NCAA Division III.
 
UP NEXT
Krutzikowksy, Scott and Wood are anticipated to compete in the NWC Multis on May 3-4 at Linfield's Maxwell Field. The next full team meet is a dual at George Fox on May 6.
