Women's Tennis takes on College of Idaho on Saturday

MATCH PREVIEW

The Linfield University women's tennis team hosts the College of Idaho in the final match before Northwest Conference play on Saturday at 9 a.m. at the Linfield Tennis Center.

COVERAGE
Per Northwest Conference protocols, all Linfield Athletics events are limited to essential game day student-athletes and staff. The Linfield Sports Network will provide a live video feed of the courts.

THE WILDCATS
Linfield is coming off a 7-0 loss to the Portland State on Sunday. Linfield's Maggie Fiocchi is this week's Northwest Conference Women's Tennis Student-Athlete of the Week, following a tight, 7-5, 6-4 loss to Division I Vikings.

The Linfield singles lineup is led by Tessa Kern and Taryn Fujimori. The featured doubles groups are the pairings of Kern and Lexie Matsunaga, and Taryn Fujimori and Haley Fujimori.

THE YOTES
The College of Idaho is making its season debut, after its first two matches against Lewis-Clark State and Whitworth were postponed due to inclement weather.

The Yotes are returning Lauren Kreutzer and Leiana Almaraz, who both competed among the top-three singles flights during the shortened 2020 season. The two also paired up for doubles last season, going 3-4.

Linfield is one of three NWC teams on the schedule for the College of Idaho, which takes on George Fox on Sunday and has a previously postponed match against Whitworth.

UP NEXT
The Wildcats begin conference play in Spokane, Washington, against the Whitworth Pirates on Saturday, March 6, at 11 a.m. The two teams are scheduled to play a non-conference match on Sunday, March 7, at 10 a.m. as well.
