NEWBERG, Ore. –
Kory Oleson scored 14 points and seven rebounds for the Linfield Wildcats, who fell 62-50 to the George Fox Bruins at the Miller Gymnasium on Friday night.
George Fox improves to 14-4 overall and 6-3 in Northwest Conference play, winning 27 straight matchups against cross-county rival, Linfield, who falls to 10-8 overall 4-5 in conference play, having lost three straight.
Oleson's 14 points on the night kept her pace of 17.5 points per game on the season, which is more than a point ahead of second place among the Northwest Conference leaders.
The Bruins started the game leading 5-0, but the Wildcats stormed back and tied the game at five on a three-pointer by
Jordyn Feinauer.
To close out the first quarter, Linfield scored 10 of the last 14 points of the quarter and took a 10-9 lead at the end of the quarter on a three-pointer by
Shasta Lofgren. The Wildcats extended their run into the second quarter increasing their lead to 15-9 on a jumper by
Maggie Smith.

Oleson had eight of the 12 points for Linfield in the third quarter, but George Fox extended its lead to 42-33 at the end of the third quarter. The Bruins defense held Oleson to zero points in the fourth quarter.
Linfield cut the George Fox lead to 49-41 and scored six of the last eight points in the game but, George Fox closed it out 60-45 for its 14
th win of the season.
Cassidy Posey was the lead scorer for the Bruins, scoring 15 points off the bench. Kylin Collman added 12 and Hailey Hartney scored 10.
Second opportunities were a key for the Bruins, who had 17 offensive rebounds and 11 second-chance points on the night.
Shasta Lofgren was 3 for 6 from three-pointers scoring nine points off the bench for the 'Cats, who had 15 points of the bench, with Feinauer and Smith adding the other three.
Delaney Ragan returned to the starting lineup for the first time since January 4 at home against Goerge Fox, the freshman guard from Portland, Oregon had six points and two points.
The Wildcats allowed the Bruins to shoot just 33.9 percent on the night and 20 percent from threes. The Wildcats shot 31.5 percent from the field and 31.8 percent from beyond the arc.
Molly Danielson exited the game with an injury at the 5:39 mark in the third quarter and did not return for the rest of the night. She had two points, five rebounds, two blocks, two steals and two assists.
