Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

'Cats split with the Loggers in 2019 after a tough loss in Tacoma

TACOMA, WASH.– The Linfield Wildcats (10-9) traveled to Washington to take on Puget Sound (14-4) in Memorial Field House on February 1st. When the Loggers traveled to McMinnville, Linfield was able to outlast Puget Sound in double overtime. Unfortunately, that was not the case in Tacoma this time as the Wildcats fell 62-82.

'Cat stats
Seven out of eight Wildcats scored in the loss to the Loggers. Molly Danielson had a game high of 23 points and pulled down eight rebounds, while guard Cameron Reuter stepped up and scored 13 for the 'Cats. Linfield shot a low of 38.9% from the field and 78.9% from the field throw line.

Loggers stats
Jamie Lange continues to be the Loggers number one threat as she had 19 points and nine rebounds. Three other Logger were able to get into the double digits: Prewitt (14), Henderson (13), and Allen (10). Puget Sound was 88.9% from the line and 54% from the field. They also had an impressive 20 points off of the bench and 15 from second chance points.

1st Half
The first two minutes of play were all Reuter and Danielson as Cami knocked down two from the charity stripe and then assisted Molly on both of her jumpers for the Wildcats six-point run. Puget Sound would go on a nine-point run of their own to take the lead and would keep it throughout the game. The Loggers kept their momentum throughout the second quarter. Schutz knocked down two of two from the free-throw line to give the 'Cats a positive heading into half time.

2nd Half
Once again Reuter got the 'Cats going as she converted on a three-point play as she had a break-away layup and was fouled. The Loggers kept the Wildcats at arm's distance the whole game as they extended their lead to 21 to end the third quarter. Reuter cut Puget Sound's lead to 22 as she made a layup to end the game.

Next.
Linfield will be back in action on Saturday, February 2nd as the 'Cats host Willamette at 4:00 p.m. in Ted Wilson Gymnasium for senior night.
