MCMINNVILLE, Ore. — Miyah Leith's 33 points helped the Lewis & Clark Pioneers secure a 75-67 Northwest Conference victory over the Linfield Wildcats on Senior Night at Ted Wilson Gymnasium Saturday.
How it played out
In the first five minutes of the game, Lewis & Clark built a 10-point lead. But a
Paige Graham three-pointer at the end of the first quarter tied the game at 16. At the beginning of the second quarter,
Bailey McDevitt hit a jumper to give the 'Cats their first lead of the game. Linfield maintained its advantage throughout the quarter to end the first half with a three-point lead.
Linfield kept the game close in the third quarter but tired in the final quarter. With five minutes remaining, Lewis & Clark went on a 7-0 run to separate themselves from the 'Cats. The Pioneers carried the momentum through the end of regulation to secure the eight-point victory.
How Linfield stacked up
Kory Oleson led the Wildcats in scoring with 16 points. The sophomore guard also grabbed four rebounds, added two assists and forced a steal. Graham followed closely with 13 points and seven rebounds.
Erin Burns added 10 points and six assists while McDevitt scored seven points and recorded seven rebounds.
Audrey McMillan had six points and two rebounds.
Lewis & Clark by the numbers
Lauren Wood scored 11 points, grabbed six rebounds and forced three steals, and Janessa Willie recorded nine points, six rebounds and seven assists. Rachel Cox had eight points, a blocked shot plus a steal, while Alyx Crager added seven points and four rebounds.
Conference implications
Lewis and Clark improves to 12-10, 7-6 and remains in the thick of the NWC playoff chase. With its second defeat of the weekend, Linfield drops to 9-14 and 5-9 in conference action.
