Wildcats ring in the new year with a win

MCMINNVILLE, ORE. – The Linfield Wildcats (4-7) hosted Yellowstone Christian (4-4) on December 31th in Ted Wilson Gymnasium. The Wildcats were able to pick up their second win in the past two days taking down the Yellowstone 68-59.
 
'Cat stats
Kory Oleson carried the 'Cats as she scored a team high of 17 point and nine rebounds. Off the bench Morgan Croxford had a career high of 10 points while adding three rebounds. Three different Wildcats: Molly Danielson, Jordyn Reinauer, and Cameron Reuter all had nine points.
 
Centurions' box score
Darielle Evans had a game high of 20 points while Karen Orozco added 13 for Yellowstone. Off the bench Alyssa Strickland added ten points and three steals. Majesty Pelletier and Hanna Hayes each added five points for the Centurions.
 
1st Half
The Wildcats won the opening tip and scored in their first possession as Kory Oleson scored off of an assist by Cameron Reuter. The 'Cats and Centurions went back and forth until the Wildcats went on a five point-run to close out the first quarter. Molly Danielson extended Linfield's lead to seven points to start off the second quarter. The Centurions were able to make a comeback late in the second quarter and take the lead from the 'Cats, however Linfield went on a five-point run to close out the quarter.
 
2nd Half
Yellowstone came out and scored in their opening possession, but the Wildcats responded as Oleson drained a three. Jordyn Feinauer extended the Wildcats lead to eight as she drained a three off of an assist by Hanna Bingham. Linfield was able to keep their lead to six to close out the third quarter. The Centurions and Wildcats went back-and-forth in the fourth quarter, but back-to-back jumpers by Danielson and Bingham extended the 'Cats lead to six. With the 30 seconds left to play Reuter drained a jumper to seal the deal for the Wildcats.

The Wildcats will kick of the new year as they travel to Willamette on January 4th at 6:00 p.m.
